By using Somewhere to Sit you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

What this is — and isn't

Somewhere to Sit provides motivational, reflective, educational, spiritual where applicable, and general emotional-support content. It does not provide psychotherapy, medical diagnosis, medical treatment, legal advice, or emergency intervention, and it is not a substitute for a licensed professional.

Emergencies

Somewhere to Sit cannot respond to emergencies. If you are in immediate danger or may hurt yourself or someone else, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. In the United States you can call or text 988. See Need immediate help?

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your sign-in details private and for activity on your account. You must be at least 18 to create an account.

Acceptable use

Please don't misuse the service: no attempts to access other people's accounts or data, disrupt the site, scrape it, or use it for anything unlawful.

Your writing

What you write belongs to you. You give us only the permission needed to store and show it back to you. We don't publish it or use it for advertising.

Our content

The letters, messages, audio, design, and other content on Somewhere to Sit belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own personal, non-commercial use.

Availability

We try to keep the site running, but it may sometimes be unavailable, and features may change or be retired.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is." To the fullest extent allowed by law, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Suspension and termination

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms or put others at risk.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Jersey, United States.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make a change that matters to you, we'll post the updated terms on this page and change the "last updated" date. Continuing to use Somewhere to Sit after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

Severability and assignment

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. You may not transfer your account or membership to someone else. We may assign our rights and obligations under these terms, for example in connection with a merger or sale of the business.
